The contest is open to all Aquidneck Island students, from kindergarten through 12th grade.  Students are asked to submit artistic or written representations of their favorite island vistas. Prizes for each age group and each category will be given as follows: $250 (first place), $100 (second place), $50 (third place). Awards will be presented at the ALT Annual Meeting in on February 1, 2018. In addition, each first-place winner’s school will receive a $500 check to support its environmental education curriculum. Last year, over 180 local students submitted short essays and artwork.

“We are very grateful to our sponsor, Sixteen on Center, for their generosity and commitment to environmental education,” said Allott. “It is a wonderful example of the community support given to ALT and other non-profits on Aquidneck Island.” Sixteen on Center is a design/build company based in Tiverton, RI.
