Middletown, RI. – September 5, 2017 – Aquidneck Land Trust (“ALT”) has opened registration for the 10th Annual 5K Race for Open Space, to be held on November 4, 2017. The 5K Run/Walk is a loop course along the scenic Sakonnet Greenway Trail.

Middletown, RI. – June 28, 2017 – Aquidneck Land Trust (“ALT”) and the Newport County YMCA announce plans for a free exercise program, Fitness in the Park, scheduled to take place every Sunday in August at Miantonomi Park in Newport.
Efforts to save the Spruce Acres tree farm on the Middletown-Portsmouth line from development appear to have been successful. On Thursday afternoon, Aquidneck Land Trust Executive Director Chuck Allott told The Daily News the nonprofit conservation group had secured $2.3 million to protect the 23-acre parcel.
