Anthony Farm - Saturday September 25th, 2010
Come for a tour of Anthony Farm, ALT’s first conserved property in Portsmouth. This farm, which is home to many of the ponies that appear in the weekly polo tournaments held at The Glen, is using best practices to minimize runoff and to protect this landscape for the generations to come. Polo, which has been played since the 5th century BC, depends on the speed, stamina and agility of the ponies. While we are there, we will see a demonstration of the training and breeding techniques used to develop these remarkable animals. This free tour will be led by Dan Keating, the farm’s manager and the founder of the Newport International Polo Series. We will be meeting Saturday September 25th, at 9:00 a.m., at 2505 East Main Rd. in Portsmouth. Space is limited so please RSVP to Courtney Huth at chuth@ailt.org or 401-849-2799 ext. 19.

The tour will be led by Marci Cole Ekberg, Coastal Ecologist, Save The Bay. We will meet at Green Bridge in Newport, located on Ocean Avenue between Brenton and Hazard Avenues Space is limited so please RSVP to Jessica Pohl at jpohl@ailt.org or 401-849-2799 x 18.
