Please join us on Monday, April 25, for our annual Donner Climate Lecture, offered as part of the Aquidneck Island Earth Week series of events. This year’s speaker is Dr. Jaime Palter, Associate Professor at URI’s Graduate School of Oceanography. Dr. Palter’s talk is titled, “The Ocean and Climate in a Rapidly Changing World,” and will be on online event at 5:30 pm. Please register here. After registering, you will be emailed a unique Zoom link, which you will use to join the event on April 25.
The world’s oceans, and the tools oceanographers use to study them, are experiencing a period of unprecedented change that is projected to continue for several decades. In this talk, Dr. Palter will discuss what to expect during this period of change, how oceanographers have come to understand the threats to the ocean, and what we might do to improve our collective future.
Thank you to The William H. Donner Foundation for sponsoring this annual event.
