Here’s your chance to learn about migratory bird research at this special ALT Walk & Talk at Bailey Brook in Middletown. This free tour and bird banding demonstration will be led by Aquidneck Land Trust former Board Chair and Salve Regina professor Jim Chace. Meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, at the Middletown Police Station (123 Valley Road, Middletown) and we will walk over together to the mobile bird banding station and see what Jim catches! Parking is limited so please carpool. Bailey Brook is a primary source of drinking water for Middletown and Newport residents, and serves as habitat for several migratory bird species. The Aquidneck Land Trust worked in partnership with the Town of Middletown to preserve the parcel of land buffering Bailey Brook.
