We are pleased to offer a second class on all-things bird, taught by professional ornithologist Dr. Charles Clarkson. The format will remain the same: four classroom style lectures supplemented with two bird walks on Aquidneck Island. As the course will be offered during the spring, the walks will concentrate on the birds that pass through our state on migration. In-class lectures will be all new material and no previous bird knowledge is required. Previously, we concentrated on bird nesting biology, conservation and the beauty of birds. For Part II, we will focus on bird migration, intelligence, flight and feathers, and how birds survive harsh environments.
If you love watching birds or simply want to know more about our feathered friends, this class will provide you with a tremendous amount of useful information. Bird walks will focus on discussing how birds make a living and their role in the environment. Please note: this class will be held April 16, April 23, May 7 and May 14. (There will be no class on April 30.)
