Welcome to Spruce Acres Farm, a 22.67-acre former tree farm that is now conserved forever, thanks to the generous support of our community. The property is open dawn til dusk and features the 1.5 mile Gewirz Trail. Visitors are asked to respect trail rules by visiting only during the allowed hours, staying on the hiking trails, leaving no trace and being respectful to neighbors. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed and picked up after. The site features ample parking, picnic tables, benches, educational signage, and community gardens.
The property is located at 1286 East Main Road, Middletown. The parking lot entrance is directly across from Mitchell’s Lane.
Community Garden Application
Register for one of the new garden beds at Spruce Acres Farm! Our garden has nine 4’x8′ raised beds filled with compost soil and ready for planting. It is surrounded by a deer fence, has water access, and is adjacent to the parking lot for easy accessibility. Garden beds are $50 per year (May-October). After you submit the registration form, you will be contacted by ALT about next steps.
Trail Volunteering
Enjoy using our trail? Why not help out! ALT has an Adopt-a-Trail program for ongoing trail monitoring and maintenance.
