Bird Identification Walk & Talk

May 14 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join Dr. Charles Clarkson at Town Pond on May 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. as he helps us identify birds by sight and sound and talk about the birds that nest and migrate through Aquidneck Island and surrounding lands.

Please note parking is limited, so carpool when possible. Park in the lot off Anthony Road in Portsmouth. We suggest wearing long pants, socks, and closed-toe shoes for tick prevention. Binoculars are encouraged to bring for birding, but are not required.

Charles Clarkson is the Director of Avian Research for the Audubon Society of RI and served as the coordinator for the RI Bird Atlas, a five-year, statewide project aimed at documenting the distribution and abundance of our birds. Dr. Clarkson has a PhD from the University of Virginia, was a former Board member of Aquidneck Land Trust, and is co-chair of the Conservation Committee for the International Waterbird Society.
