Merritt Neighborhood Fund
Applications are now being accepted for 2021 Merritt Neighborhood Fund grants!
The purpose of the Fund is to provide modest grants to Aquidneck Island’s neighborhood and community groups to support the preservation of small parks and other natural spaces. These groups strengthen their community’s identity and character and model the ethic of land conservation and stewardship through community volunteerism. Groups may apply for more than one grant per cycle, but the maximum awarded to any one group per year is $2,500.
ALT established The Merritt Neighborhood Fund in 1999 to honor the late Peter M. Merritt, the organization’s visionary president emeritus, for his decade of leadership. Peter had a vision to execute the mission of the Land Trust on a smaller scale to benefit individual neighborhoods across Aquidneck Island. The Merritt Neighborhood Fund awarded the grants listed below in 2020.
