Merritt Neighborhood Fund

Congratulations to the awardees of the 2022 Merritt Neighborhood Fund grant cycle!

The purpose of the Fund is to provide modest grants to strengthen the community’s identity and character, and to model the ethic of land conservation and stewardship through community volunteerism. ALT established the Merritt Neighborhood Fund in 1999 to honor the late Peter M. Merritt, the organization’s visionary president emeritus, for his decade of leadership. Peter had a vision to execute the mission of the Land Trust on a smaller scale to benefit individual neighborhoods across Aquidneck Island. The Merritt Neighborhood Fund works to realize his vision, which recognizes that as important as it is to conserve large sections of land, it is the smaller parcels of open space that connect us to our communities.

Information on the 2023 Merritt Fund grant cycle will be posted in February, 2023.
