ALT works to protect open spaces that provide public access to the community, such as hiking trails, large city parks, small pocket parks, and recreational fields. ALT has permanently protected 19 parks across Middletown, Portsmouth, and Newport, ensuring they remain as open space for the community. The 10-mile Sakonnet Greenway Trail and the trails in the Oakland Forest are also on publicly-accessible, conserved land. Check out our interactive map to view all protected areas, and our Outdoor Recreation Map to access brief descriptions of these and other properties.
